2026 season

The 2026 season: what each body ran, and what is still to come.

On 30 October 2026 three of IFMAR's 2026 World Championships are finished, one was cancelled and one, the electric touring car Worlds in Bangkok, is still to come. The European, North American and Asian championships listed here have run, apart from one European Championship whose dates were not read. This page goes through the year in order, with each body kept apart.

Each body below runs its own championships under its own rules, and no result is carried from one body's list to another's. None of the bodies' own results pages (IFMAR, EFRA, ROAR, FEMCA or FAMAR) was read for this site, so every result rests on trade press (mainly Red RC and LiveRC), Wikipedia (a secondary source) or a report published by the BRCA, and the text says which. Driver names are spelled as each source spells them; a matching name in two different results is not said to be the same person unless a source says so.

IFMAR: four World Championships, not five

Red RC reported IFMAR's 2026 calendar on 12 June 2025 with five World Championships: 1:12 electric and 1:10 electric touring car (ISTC) in Guangzhou or Foshan, China, in March and April; Large Scale in Lostallo, Switzerland; 1:10 nitro touring car in Gubbio, Italy; and 1:8 nitro off-road in Texas. By 7 July 2026 Red RC was writing that IFMAR was holding four World Championships that year.

An IFMAR release, reposted by LiveRC, says the ISTC World Championship was moved from Foshan to the HUGE R/C Circuit, an indoor asphalt facility in Bangkok, Thailand, and that the Bangkok event covers ISTC only, not 1/12. IFMAR says it will seek proposals from its four blocs to host a 1/12 World Championship in 2027. No rescheduled 2026 1:12 World Championship was found. No IFMAR statement of a reason for dropping the Foshan event was read, and this site does not give one.

  • Large Scale (1:5), Lostallo: won by Emanuele D'amico (Italy), according to a single Red RC report.
  • 1:10 IC touring car, Gubbio: won by Naoto Matsukura, according to Red RC and a LiveRC headline; a search summary of Wikipedia (secondary) agrees.
  • 1:8 IC off-road, Texas: won by David Ronnefalk, according to Red RC, with Wikipedia (secondary) agreeing. The sources differ on the place (Austin, Texas, in EFRA's 2025 minutes; Hutto, Texas, in Red RC's September 2026 coverage) and the start date (26 September in Red RC's June 2025 calendar and on Wikipedia; 27 September in Red RC's April 2026 report and EFRA's minutes).
  • ISTC, Bangkok: upcoming, with open practice on 11 November and qualifying and finals from 12 to 14 November 2026, so there is no result.

Full detail is on IFMAR World Championships 2026.

EFRA: the European Championships

EFRA posted on 25 September 2026 that no official European Championship was held in 2026 in Large Scale Touring Car or F1, because the EFRA bloc hosted the Large Scale World Championship. Of EFRA's 2026 European Championships, trade press reported results for 1:8 nitro buggy (A and B), 1:8 electric buggy, 1:10 electric off-road (2WD and 4WD) and 1:10 electric touring car, and the BRCA reported the Large Scale Off-Road results. No result was found for the 1/8 IC track, the two 40+ championships or the 1/12 championship. See EFRA European Championships 2026.

ROAR: the Nationals

ROAR runs separate National Championships by surface and class. Results reported by Red RC or LiveRC were found for the Carpet on-road Nationals, the Carpet Off-Road Nationals (the 2WD Buggy title only), the 1:10 Dirt Off-Road Nationals, the 1:8 Onroad National and the 1/8 Off-Road Nationals. The Paved On-Road Nationals are known only from a LiveRC results headline of 26 October. See ROAR Nationals 2026.

FEMCA and Asia

Two FEMCA Asia Championships were found for 2026, both reported by Red RC: the first 1:8 GT Asia Championship, moved from Vietnam to Brisbane, Australia, and the 1:8 Offroad Asian Championship in Malaysia. No 2026 FEMCA touring car, 1:12 or nitro on-road Asia Championship was found. See FEMCA and Asia 2026.

FAMAR and South America

No FAMAR page and no FAMAR-published 2026 result was found. Red RC reported the 2026 South American Championships in Mendoza, Argentina, but its report does not name the organising body, so the result is not attributed to FAMAR on this site. It is covered on other major races.

National championships and organiser races

Of the national bodies, only the BRCA published 2026 results that were read for this site: its 1/8 Buggy National Championship. Titles in other countries reported only by trade press are not listed as results. See national championships. Races run by organisers rather than governing bodies, such as the TITC in Bangkok and the NYGP in New York, are on other major races.
