What the bodies said about 2026
No 2026 broadcast or streaming statement by IFMAR, EFRA, ROAR or FEMCA was found in the research for this site. That includes the 2026 electric touring car (ISTC) World Championship in Bangkok, with open practice on 11 November and qualifying and finals from 12 to 14 November 2026: on 30 October no stream or broadcast announcement for it was found. Not found does not mean there will be none.
Two 2026 Worlds documents were read with this in mind. IFMAR's release on the move of the ISTC Worlds to Bangkok, reposted by LiveRC and last updated on 27 July 2026, does not mention streaming or live coverage. Red RC's stage 1 report on the 1:8 nitro off-road Worlds in Texas (6 April 2026) does not mention a live stream either.
How the 2026 Worlds were reported
The 1:8 off-road World Championship in Texas was followed in the trade press through dated text reports. Red RC announced its "1:8 Offroad Worlds coverage" on 28 September 2026 and posted reports through practice, qualifying, the semi-finals and the final. LiveRC posted round-by-round results headlines from 29 September to 3 October 2026. The results that came out of that coverage are on IFMAR World Championships 2026.
Streams at organiser-run races
Red RC's preview of the Thailand International Touring Car Championship (TITC), on 11 February 2026, says the 2026 race in Bangkok had its first proper livestream production, made by RC Race Media.
A Red RC report of April 2025, known from a search summary, says RC Race Media, which also broadcasts the Asian Buggy Championships, live-streamed the 2025 RC Bike World Championship in Australia and was linked to the 2025 IFMAR 1:10 off-road Worlds. A search summary of another source says RC Race Media broadcast the official live stream of the 2025 1:10 off-road Worlds in Sydney. Neither says anything about 2026, and both rest on search summaries.
Earlier coverage by LiveRC and on TV
- LiveRC and IFMAR: LiveRC has broadcast IFMAR World Championships in earlier years. For example, it announced live coverage of the 2019 IFMAR 1/8 IC Track World Championship. That is not evidence of 2026 coverage.
- ROAR Nationals: the most recent statement read is from LiveRC's president on 17 August 2018. It says ROAR declined to give LiveRC exclusive live broadcast rights when a 2011 agreement came up for renewal, and that LiveRC attended only one ROAR Nationals in 2018, under a contract with the organiser. That may be out of date.
- Television: SPEED SPORT reported on 27 August 2024 that its SPEED SPORT 1 channel would air RC racing produced by LiveRaceMedia, LiveRC's operator, including the Visions 2023 race and IFMAR nitro World Championship racing from Inabe, Japan, with more World Championship events planned. No 2026 programming was found.
Live timing
IFMAR's 1/8 IC off-road World Championship rules (2024, 3.9) make lap counting automatic, with two independent approved timing systems running at once, recording laps to one hundredth of a second, and every driver using a personal transponder. EFRA's 2024 General Rules (5.4) likewise require two independent lap-counting systems at EFRA-sanctioned events. IFMAR's document on affiliated tracks (7 March 2021) lists IFMAR-approved timing with live timing among the minimum requirements for a track that wants to affiliate. How timing works is on timing and transponders.
Watching in person
The rule books read for this site say how a track must protect people around it, including spectators:
- IFMAR (1/8 IC off-road rules 2024, 3.8) calls spectator safety "of prime importance" and requires barriers protecting spectators, competitors, marshals and officials, with track markers shaped so that cars are not thrown into the public.
- EFRA (2024 General Rules, 5.3.1 to 5.3.10) requires barriers that protect spectators, competitors and officials, and corner markers that do not let cars fly into the public.
These are the bodies' rules for their own events; a track's own safety rules and the race director apply on the day. More is on track and rostrum rules. If anyone is hurt at a track, that needs emergency services or medical care.
