Champions are listed as each source names them, with nationality only where that source gives it. A name that appears in more than one class or year is not said to be the same person unless a source says so; where Red RC itself links two titles, for example by calling a driver the defending champion, that is stated as Red RC's account. Wikipedia is a secondary source, and some of its pages carry warnings noted below.

The 2026 editions are covered in full on IFMAR World Championships 2026. The 2026 1:12 edition was cancelled and the 2026 ISTC edition in Bangkok, with open practice on 11 November and qualifying and finals from 12 to 14 November, has not yet run.
1:8 IC off-road (nitro buggy)
- 2026, Thornhill Racing Circuit, Texas: David Ronnefalk, per Red RC (4 October 2026); Wikipedia lists him as Swedish.
- 2024, RC-Redovan, Alicante, Spain: Davide Ongaro (Italy), per Wikipedia. LiveRC reports Ongaro winning, with Elliott Boots second and Juan Carlos Canas third, Canas having been fastest qualifier. Wikipedia says the 2024 event was first awarded to a venue in Sao Paulo, Brazil, whose hosting was withdrawn in March 2024; LiveRC headlines from 22 March and 1 April 2024 report the Brazil event cancelled and the Worlds returning to Spain.
- Earlier, per Wikipedia: 2022 at RC-Redovan, Spain, Davide Ongaro (Italy); 2020 at Cianorte, Brazil, postponed and then cancelled because of COVID-19; 2018 at Whiteman Park, Perth, Australia, Davide Ongaro (Italy); 2016 at RC Tracks of Las Vegas, USA, David Ronnefalk (Sweden).
1:10 electric off-road (2WD and 4WD)
The two drive types are separate titles at the same event. All three editions below are from Wikipedia; LiveRC headlines agree on the 2025 and 2023 champions.
- 2025, Castle Hill, New South Wales, Australia: 2WD Broc Champlin (United States); 4WD Marcus Kaerup (Denmark).
- 2023, Chandler, Arizona, USA: 2WD Michael "Tater" Sontag (United States); 4WD Davide Ongaro (Italy).
- 2019, Hudy Arena, Trencin, Slovakia: 2WD Spencer Rivkin (United States); 4WD Bruno Coelho (Portugal).
A LiveRC headline of 8 December 2025 says Hudy Arena will host the 2027 edition; only the headline was seen.
1:8 electric off-road (eBuggy)
Red RC reported on 30 August 2025 that Marcus Kaerup (Denmark), aged 17, became the first IFMAR 1:8 electric off-road World Champion at the Barcelos Buggy Arena in Portugal, with Michal Orlowski second and Davide Ongaro (Italy) third. A LiveRC headline of 1 September 2025 agrees. Two points are recorded differently elsewhere: Wikipedia's 1:8 IC off-road page says in its text that the electric class was added in 2024 but lists it from 2025 in its navigation, and a news page from Hobbywing, a maker, names the venue as the Barcelona Electric Off-Road Arena. A LiveRC headline of 5 October 2026 names Gateway RC Park as the 2027 host; only the headline was seen.
1:10 electric touring car (ISTC)
LiveRC reports that the 2024 World Championship in Bakersfield, California, was won in Modified by Bruno Coelho, ahead of Michal Orlowski and Marc Rheinard, and in TC Spec by Simon Lauter, ahead of Max Machler and Jan Ratheisky.
1:12 electric track
- 2023, Beachline Raceway, Florida, USA: Modified Michal Orlowski (Poland), per Wikipedia. Wikipedia also lists Max Machler (Germany) for 2023; the class of that title was not confirmed.
- January 2020, Milton Keynes, United Kingdom: Modified Marc Rheinard (Germany) and Stock Andy Murray (United Kingdom), per Wikipedia.
Wikipedia's IFMAR navigation also lists 1:12 editions in 2022 and 2024 that its 1:12 page did not show in the part read. The two have not been reconciled.
1:10 IC track (200 mm nitro touring car)
Naoto Matsukura won in 2026 at Gubbio. Red RC described Jilles Groskamp in August and September 2026 as the reigning champion from 2024. The 2024 venue was not read; LiveRC's IFMAR tag lists a headline from 15 July 2024 announcing a venue change for the 1/10 IC Worlds.
1:8 IC track (nitro on-road)
- 2025, Club de Aeromodelos de Chile track, Santiago: Shoki Takahata (Japan) won his second title, with Simon Kurzbuch (Switzerland) second and Andrea Catanzani (Italy) third (Red RC, 6 December 2025; Wikipedia agrees; a LiveRC headline of 8 December 2025 calls him a two-time champion).
- 2023 and 2019, per Wikipedia: Dario Balestri (Italy) at INFINITY International RC Speedway, Japan, in 2023, and Shoki Takahata (Japan) at Steel City RC Speedway, Fontana, California, in 2019. Wikipedia's page carries a notice that parts of it may be machine-generated, so these rest on it alone, apart from a LiveRC headline of 6 November 2023 naming Balestri the 1/8 GP World Champion.
1:8 GT
Red RC reported on 19 September 2025 that Alessio Mazzeo (Italy) won the 1:8 Nitro GT one-hour final in Chile, with Carli Lopez second and Flavio Elias (Brazil) third, the day after winning the Electric GT title, which made him a double World Champion. For 2023, a LiveRC headline of 16 October 2023 names Gruber and Neumann as GT World Champions; which driver won which class was not read.
Large Scale (1:5)
- 2026, Lostallo, Switzerland: Emanuele D'amico (Italy), per one Red RC report.
- 2024: a search summary of a Red RC report from July 2024 says the planned Large Scale Worlds in Sydney was cancelled, which is unconfirmed; LiveRC's IFMAR tag lists a headline of 10 July 2024 announcing two Worlds cancellations.
- 2022, Steel City R/C Speedway, Fontana, USA: Markus Feldmann (Germany) won the 11th running and became the class's first repeat champion, with Kyle Goodwine second and Gianmarco Martelli third (Red RC, 20 September 2022).
Electric drifting
Wikipedia's IFMAR navigation lists 1:10 electric drifting World Championships in 2020 and 2022. No winner or venue was read.
Where each championship began
The first editions are disputed in places, and the world championships gives each version in full. In short: IFMAR's own history calls a 1981 1/8 IC track race its first championship and lists earlier races in 1977 and 1979 as events, while Wikipedia calls the 1977 race at Pomona the first 1:8 IC track World Championship. IFMAR dates its first electric World Championship, 1/12, to 1982, and LiveRC places it in Anaheim. Wikipedia gives 1985 for the first 1:10 electric off-road Worlds and 1986 for the first 1:8 IC off-road Worlds. LiveRC dates the first ISTC Worlds to 1998, as a provisional class (LiveRC's account; no other source read).
